About The Pastor

Dwayne B. Hooper, Sr.
Dwayne Hooper currently serves as the Senior Pastor of the Largo Community Church. Prior to joining the Largo Community Church staff, Rev. Hooper worked in the mortgage banking and financial industry for almost fifteen years and served as vice president with one of the largest title and settlement companies in the Baltimore/Washington area. When God called Dwayne to serve in the ministry, he was obedient to the call and left the financial industry to join the staff as a minister at Largo Community Church in 2001.
In 1985, he was drafted by the now-defunct USFL football league and played running back with the organization from 1985 through 1986. Rev. Hooper, however, opted to join the National Football League's Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent.
He attended Rutgers University in New Jersey on a full athletic scholarship and majored in Business Economics. Rev. Hooper received his Master's in Theology from Regent University School of Divinity in May 2008.
Rev. Hooper was licensed as a minister on February 8, 2004, and held the position of Executive Minister. In this position, he managed all of the day-to-day operations of the church, as well as all financial operations. He also served as the acting chairman of Largo Community Church in the absence of the now-retired senior pastor. He is also the Executive Director of Largo Community Ministries, a nonprofit corporation that serves the local community of Mitchellville.
