LCC Prison Ministry Outreach Overview

LCC has been participating in the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry at the Prince George’s County Correctional Center (PGCCC) since May 2009. For more information about the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, CLICK HERE.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and contractual changes at the PGCCC face to face ministry has been suspended until further notice. For more information about the Prince George’s County Correctional Center, CLICK HERE.

Prison Ministry of America (PMA) is the current contractor providing Religious Services at the PGCCC. For more information about the PMA, CLICK HERE.

Criteria For the Largo Community Church Prison Ministry:

  • You must be Born Again and be a member of the Largo Community Church
  • You must be approved by the Pastor
  • You must be called to this Ministry by GOD
  • You must have a Spiritual Gift for this kind of work in the Ministry
  • You must be a tither
  • You must be a mature, well-seasoned Christian
  • You must be in Good Standing in the Community
  • You must successfully undergo a Background Investigation
  • You must have an annual test for Tuberculosis, and you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Once approved, you will have to attend the New Volunteer Orientation Session at the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections Training Facility in Upper Marlboro.
  • After receiving your access badge and parking pass, you must visit the County Correctional Center at least once every 90-days, or your badge may be deactivated.
  • Our current schedule involves visiting the County Correctional Center on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (6:45 PM to 8:00 PM).
  • No more than three volunteers are permitted in the unit at a time. At no time should a volunteer be allowed to conduct a visit alone.
  • Female volunteers may accompany male volunteers when visiting male inmate units, but male volunteers are not allowed in female inmate units at any time.
