Dwayne B. Hooper, Sr.
Executive Minister
As a Largo Community Church layperson, Dwayne has worked in various ministries, as well as serving on the church's Board of Trustees for the past 14 years.  Prior to joining the church staff in a full-time capacity in October 2003 and being licensed as a minister on February 8, 2004, he held a part-time position as Executive Assistant to the Pastor for two years.

Dwayne worked in the banking industry for almost twenty years.  Prior to joining the LCC staff, he was a vice president with one of the largest title and settlement companies in the country.

In 1985 he was drafted by the now-defunct USFL football league. Dwayne however, opted to join the National Football League's Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent, and played running back there from 1985 through 1986.

He attended Rutgers University in New Jersey on a full athletic scholarship and majored in Business Economics.  Now he is pursuing his Master's degree in Practical Theology at Regent University.

Dwayne brings into the ministry a wealth of experience that will facilitate his work at the church.  His current duties are to handle the business operations of the church, as well as support all the church's department heads and various ministries.

He and his wife Patricia were married in 1989.   They have been blessed with four children: three sons (Duane, Dewayne (DJ), and Grant); and one daughter (Clarke).  Duane, the oldest of the four, died at childbirth and is now with the Lord.  Dwayne and Patricia both testify that the passing of their child is what helped them to cement and enhance their walk with Christ.
